OUR MISSION
Preserving, Researching, and Educating About The Vietnam War
Preserving, Researching, and Educating About The Vietnam War
For nearly thirty years, the Vietnam Center and Archive has been collecting, preserving, and providing access to the history of the Vietnam War while encouraging research and education regarding all aspects of that experience.
We provide services through:
- Manuscript, Artifact, and Material Collections
- Online Access through the Virtual Vietnam Archive
- Participant Interviews for the Oral History Project
- Conferences, Symposia, Events, and Study Abroad
The Vietnam Center and Archive welcomes veterans and families to donate the following types of material related to the Vietnam War:
- Personal documents to include letters, diaries, military records, etc.
- Photographs/slides/negatives
- Movie Film to include 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm
- Audio recordings (letters, cockpit recordings, mission recordings, radio/message traffic)
- Artifacts to include uniforms, equipment, weapons, vehicles, aircraft, watercraft, etc.
- Newspapers/Magazines/Newsletters published by military units (e.g. The VHPA Aviator, Tropic Lighting News, Post/base newsletters and newspapers, etc.)
- Any materials that relate to service during the Vietnam War
